get help in your transition to canada

There is currently a gap in community resources that address the unique needs of youth immigrants and refugees. Many of these young people felt isolated at school due to language barriers, and felt a sense of disconnect from Canadian culture. Some felt caught in between their parents’ native country and their new place of residence, often experiencing anxiety and loss of identity.

Multicultural Youth CAN (formerly the Peel Multicultural Youth Advisory) is an organization that helps recently immigrated youth and refugees (aged 13 to 23) integrate into Canadian culture while overcoming the stresses of a new world. With the support of the Government of Canada and the Region of Peel, we have served over 700 youth in the Peel Region.

We feature unique youth-led programming, such as ESL-friendly conversation circles, tutoring, job search and resume workshops, and mentorship. For a full list of our services, check out our Services page.

All youth who register in our programming are eligible for Community Service Hours (40 hours are mandatory for all graduating students). We hold all of these services, plus a Drop-In Youth Program (featuring snacks and games!), in our Youth Space at the Peel Multicultural Council. Visit us at 6630 Turner Valley Rd in Mississauga!
